Asheli S. Atkins received her Ph.D. from Texas A&M University where she studied race & ethnic relations and organizational theory. Her research centers around strategy construction processes for marginalized entrepreneurs, with specific attention to Black entrepreneurs. Additionally, she analyzes the freelancing industry as a racialized and gendered organization.

Asheli is the co-founder of Attucks England Consulting, LLC alongside Warren Luckett & Cornell England. Additionally, Asheli is the Research & Data sponsor for the Greater Houston Black Chamber, where she provides assistance with data collection, analysis, and presentation of and for GHBC sponsors, members, and Houston’s Black consumers. Asheli is also a Sociology Lecturer at Prairie View A&M University where she teaches Social Theory, Social Problems, and General Sociology.
